Well, I decided I’m going to write weekly on this here ‘lil blog and its going to be my art diary. You’re going to get the nitty gritty artist life here. The daily art grind: the distractions, the distortions, the ding batty ideas, and maybe some where between all that you’ll find something of value, something you’re looking for.
See, for years now I’ve racked my brain to come up with something brilliant for the online world. Brilliant artwork, brilliant blog posts, brilliant tutorials, the to-do list of brilliancy goes on and on for the struggling artist, perhaps you know what I mean. I decided today, actually about half an hour ago, that you’re not going to get brilliant me, but you will get daily me doing my best. 🙂
So, here is my first weekly not-so-brilliant art diary blog post. And here is my not-do-brilliant art…
Yup. That’s it. The plan is to edit & illustrate my version of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid. And right now I’m at the glorious stage of the editing the original text and planning the story board. Simple enough, but this is very difficult for me.
Why so difficult? Because I’m itching to sculpt something, or paint something, or make fairy furniture. I’m very distracted right now because I’m trying to focus on something other than creating with my hands.
By now you’ve probably figured out I have undiagnosed ADD. Basically, that means I have unfinished art projects in just about every corner of the house. Perhaps this weekly, not-so-brilliant, art diary will help me stay on track.
